The fact that SK was even a little bit OK with the 2017 movie (and he seemed to be pretty happy with it) was really disappointing. However, I have become familiar with Mike Flanagan's work, Stephen King and non Stephen King, and I have a lot of faith that he will make the best possible adaptation of The Dark Tower. He seems to truly care about the existing fan base. And when it comes to Stephen King being okay with the movie, maybe he actually just saw it as a good first try.
