"Not Everyone Needs To Be White": How To Train Your Dragon’s Live-Action Casting & Lore Change Unpacked By Director After Astrid Backlash
Shouldn't that also be up to the creators?
The new Percy Jackson tv show has Annabeth race swapped to a black girl when the books have her as a white blonde haired grey eyed girl. The author of the books had a heavy hand in that casting.
I would rather have someone who can play the role well and has chemistry with the other actors than a wooden actor that only looks like the character. Kirsten Stewart as Bella Swan is a perfect example. In the books it was made very clear that she is very facially expressive, to the point she can't lie well. Stewart's acting was so wooden and forced that it ruined the character.
Why Frodo Never Got Married After The Lord Of The Rings Even Though Sam Did
Absolutely not. The Hobbit was published in 1937, and homosexuality was a very taboo subject then. Tolkien himself was a devout Roman Catholic and we all know their official stance on the subject at the time. He also would have had to contend with judicial prosecution. None of his later letters or writings ever hint that Frodo and Bilbo were anything more than bachelor's who had wanderlust. Also while Bilbo was confirmed to have a wanderlust, Frodo was essentially forced on the journey when Gandalf was able to confirm that Bilbo's ring was Sauron's ruling ring.
Tolkien further clarifies Frodo and Sam's relationship as akin to a military officer and his batman.
There is no other hint of homosexuality in any of his works or the works later compiled and published by his son. All homosexual interpretations are from third parties and not JRR or Christopher.

I was in no way surprised he came back. And revealing that it was him who created Snoke, and was behind Ben's turn to the dark side is very much in character for him. For most of the galaxy even when Palpatine was the emperor, they didn't know he was a force , much less a Sith Lord. This was their first full confirmation that what the rebellion and the New Republic said was true about him.
