These 8 Classic Sci-Fi Shows Are Much Better Than You
The idea that Space 1999 holds up is hilarious. The characters rang from incompetent and baffling to inconsistent yet arrogant. I watched it recently and the best part was tearing it to shreds in a novella-length review on Reddit that maybe four people actually read. What a howler.
10 Rock Bands Who Were More Successful After Abandoning Their Original Sound
I would argue that With Sympathy to Twitch is a much bigger shift.
10 Great Metal Bands That Only Released One Album
Another great band, though they had two albums and a few EPs and singles, was The God Machine. Powerful, emotional, desolate hard leftfield rock.
Why Patrick Stewart Hated Picard’s Pet Lionfish In Star Trek: The Next Generation
Weird. I'm a big Star Trek fan, and I've seen every episode of every series a couple of times, and I literally do not recall Picard having a lionfish. This isn't so much Mandela effect nonsense, just that it never really ed to me that he existed, was a pet, or was some detail that I should pay attention to and .
"All My Fault": Dune Director Shares Major Regret For 1984 Sci-Fi
Yep, could have been better, but still one of my three-most watched movies. My love for this movie is guilt-free and sincere. I like Villneuve's version, too, but I didn't care for the sci fi channel's miniseries. The costumes were atrocious and everyone had a very tacky hat.

George Lucas Defends The Star Wars Special Editions, Insists Unaltered Versions Of The OT Will Never Be Released
75 year long copyright stretches are theft from the public domain. If 14 years plus a non-automatic extension of another 14 years was good enough in 1790 when news and culture traveled the world at the speed of horse and sail, and when most people figured your grandchildren's lives would be very similar to your grandparents, 5 years is the maximum anyone should be entertaining this legal fiction in a world where trends can come and go in seasons and we're news and culture travel around the world at the speed of light.
George Lucas Defends The Star Wars Special Editions, Insists Unaltered Versions Of The OT Will Never Be Released
This demonstrates a few problems in our modern copyright laws. Lucas already made his money off this film often at the expense of his actors. The idea that copyright should last longer than 5 years let alone 90 is an obscenity. The idea that he exclusively owns this piece of pop culture created over 45 years ago, rather than the fans and film aficionados who have embraced it and loved it for almost half a century is offensive. Copyright is theft from the public domain and it is theft of our common culture and heritage. I doubt anyone at all begrudges Lucas's right to make changes to the films he made; All anyone is asking is for him to stop trying to erase history, and allow the films we actually saw when we were children to exist as they were then, with the welcome addition of those changes required only to preserve or improve the visual fidelity of the original films.
