Moon Knight latest TV Poster
Moon Knight
7/10

I like the idea of Moon Knight more than I actually like it. The first few episodes are great, and the acting is wonderful. However, it seems to be feigning its darker tone more than really embracing it. I would love to see a second season now that Marvel Studios is dipping more into truly M/R-rate content, which is what Moon Knight needs.

Avengers: Infinity War
10/10

The MCU's Infinity Saga is defined by risk after risk working out for Marvel Studios, and Infinity War remains arguably the biggest gamble. The first Avengers movie broke new ground for team-ups, but Infinity War had to balance a far larger cast, flesh out Thanos as a character, and make good on a decade of hype and world-building. And it pulled it off.

It's hard to now that almost nothing was established about Thanos pre-Infinity War, to the point that nobody knew why he wanted the stones. The fact that he's among cinema's all-time most iconic villains is a testament to the quality of Infinity War. Endgame may be the true Saga-close, but Infinity War remains the tighter story.

Thor: Ragnarok
9/10

The first two Thor films are fine for what they are, but Ragnarok successfully re-invented the character and nailed the balance between action, humor, and pathos that its successor, Love & Thunder, struggled with a bit more. Hemsworth's comedic chops are on full display, but Cate Blanchett's Hela steals the show. Moreover, while Loki's heroic side had been glimpsed a bit in earlier projects, it's here that his full face turn really shines.

The Office
10/10

Everyone has that one movie or show. That special project that, by virtue of quality, circumstance, or undescribable personal connection, becomes intrinsically linked with you. For me, that's The Office.

I started watching the show as season 3 was airing, and despite being far too young to have an office job, I was immediately hooked. Almost 20 years later, it's still my comfort food. It's what I put on when I'm having a bad day and need to feel better, and it's what I put on when I'm already feeling great.

There's no doubt that a few creative decisions later in the show - particularly with Andy's character arc - detract a bit from the overall experience, but things aren't beautiful because they're perfect. To me, The Office is the funniest show ever created, filled with memorable characters and iconic situations I'll never tire of revisiting over and over again.

Interstellar
8/10

Though the (in)famous "love" monologue does indeed stick out a bit from an otherwise wonderful script, and the audio mixing leaves a few lines of dialogue overly muddled, Interstellar is an incredible accomplishment that's aged beautifully. The story is emotive and the visuals are best-in-class, but it's really the score by Zimmer that elevates the entire experience. It's not a movie that I think watches well played in the background of a busy day - it deserves dim lights, a big screen, loud sounds, and uninterrupted focus.
