See AllWalking Dead's Creator Names the iconic Character He Doesn't Own & Is Banned from Using
Always figured this was the case. It is a good thing that the Comics and Series have quite a lot of differences. Norman auditioned for Meryl! They liked him so much that they created Daryl and he became the main face of the franchise along with Rick. But AMC should ask Kirkman to collaborate with them more and start doing Daryl stories in the comics. It would be really interesting to read a legitimate Walking Dead Graphic Novel(s) Where the creator gets his own vision of the uber popular character he didn't create. He could do a lot of interesting stuff with him and it would be cool if Daryl Dixon had a proper comic book counterpart.
Nightmare On Elm Street’s Robert Englund Reveals His 1 & Only Condition For Unretiring Freddy Krueger
Yes! She may not have the star power or the acting strength of Jamie Lee, but I would be very saddened if Heather wasn't a new chapter in the franchise connected to the original. It's the franchise she is a star in. Along with being the first Heroine and final girl of Freddy. Dream Warriors and Wes Craven's new Nightmare were the strongest after the original in my opinion. She was one of the reasons for that. Personally, I wouldn't go for a "Remake" I would rather they either retconed her death from 3 or have her ascend to something of his level in the dream world. She knew others could wield powers in their dreams, she trained them. They could build on that. I liked what they did with Freddy's mother. He seemed weary of her even in his world. Nancy could be a figure like that but even stronger. While also visiting the dreams of the kids he's targeting and guiding them.
Nightmare On Elm Street’s Robert Englund Reveals His 1 & Only Condition For Unretiring Freddy Krueger
If written and animated correctly it could be a really great way for Robert to return, and to be as comfortable as he wants. Horror Animation is definitely more suited to the Nightmare franchise than the likes of Halloween and Friday the 13th. It's the direction that could give us more time with the only actor people want to see in the role. The remake wasn't terrible. If Englund was in it, and they kept some of the vision as a soft reboot rather a remake it could have succeeded. His voice is made for animation as well! I'd be all in.
I completely respect if he doesn't want to in any scenario. I would however love one more live action Nightmare movie with him. There are a lot of ways that he could be seen and heard without his older body being exposed. Sadly, we never got Freddy Vs Jason 2 on screen. The final Nightmare was no way to end that era. If there's a way he can feel confident about one more live action outing that does his legacy justice I really hope we get it. I am thrilled he proposes a way he can continue as Freddy that could be awesome regardless though.
