It will definitely endanger the story's key meaning. The best movie so far was the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, we watched it at the theater and ended with a standing ovation because it was really close to the story. You stray from the story and you will have another Prince Caspian, a movie that is the worst. If done right these movies can be enjoyed for generations as of now it’s not.
