It depends how you percept his way!! He did train and met new challenges during his time on the other side gain new technique, new power and made new friends. So, when he came back on life to his truly family he was able to impress everyone out there with his new power and was able to protect them again and again so the planet with his family in it can be alive to see and enjoy another day. And, that happened thanks to his excitement and the love to learn new things. Sometimes, even if your away from your loves one that doesn't mean that you don't care for them!!
