Since the sixth season they haven't stopped damaging not only this relationship but also the characters.
I’m tired of The Rookie teasing Chenford’s relationship without any follow through.
And in my opinion, it's already too late to give her that emotional push after 17 chapters since the breakup, not to mention that Lucy hasn't been able to open her mouth to give her opinion. The only answer I have is that they did it this way for commercial gain, regardless of their characters.
