It's a slight shame we're in The Great Pirate Era. I've always wondered if my viewership info could impact series continuation decisions if I'm watching/reading something in a manner that's not the platform it was originally ed to (I know that's probably not likely.). I only say that because I really want this to last more than a few seasons, regardless. Time to go watch!

Good on Miyazaki-sama and Mr. Zamora as well for calling out AI's insidious invasion into artistic media. Maybe there's some merit to using AI solely as a launch point for ideas, but honestly, I don't believe there are many commercial or art-based avenues that AI has improved for the average person. That's before considering its environmental impacts. It's best used in scientific or medical advancements, but everything else its soulless fingers are wrapped up in will slowly (or in the case of art, rapidly) be degraded over time. That, or the s themselves will be worse off for the dependence foisted upon a captive population.

The 1997 version being the best official iteration is ironic, since animation technology had "improved" since then. There was a fan animated series that was in the works, since longtime fans were tired of not having a long, quality anime to watch — and it looked really good! Unfortunately I think the publisher sent them a cease and desist. Whenever the adaptation does happen, whoever does it, it'd be better if everyone involved were superfans like those unofficial sequel creators were.
