As others have said, please leave classic literature, stories and characters alone as written and don't try and push to change to reflect your own perspectives. There are plenty of stories and opportunities to write about strong women and has been done very successfully. BTW Jackson didn't change Eowyn and was it was successful, versus recent RoP and WoR that were disasters because of changes to the fundamental characters and stories to match someone's else's viewpoint.

Thanks for the comment and I am unable to respond to your comment for some reason. I encourage you to read Tolkien's works for yourself. Start with the Lord of the Rings and then read the appendices in full. Then undertake the Silmarillion. Take your time and you may have to take a few breaks because can be fairly dense material at times. There are other works, but these are the core and will help put you in Tolkien's mind set. He wrote a series of stories in the Greek heroic style, blending Norse mythology with themes from English and Irish folklore. I hope after getting to know better you will come to understand why so many Tolkien fans were so disappointed with RoP and how badly they treated the characters and representation versus the source material. To many of us was like promising a Superbowl and instead giving a kindergarten tag football match.

Sponsored twaddle. At least Rohirrim movie was loosely based on Tolkien writings and they made up a character to base the story around. ROP is totally made up and terribly written stories about Tolkien characters. Both likely have him turning in his grave.

The danger is not the visuals or look of the robot, etc. is about the story telling and the characters. Most films/shows in past 15 years spend all their budget on visuals and get poor script writers and directors who want to make their own interpretation that screws things up.

Sorry, who comes up with this? Are you just taking feeds from Amazon? The show is terrible and totally out of sync with Tolkien's works and story's, with nothing making any sense. Please stop and tell Amazon also to stop. The sooner this is cancelled and we can get a reset, maybe someone new can work on either a faithful adaptation of Tolkien's works, or do something original with some writers who have moved beyond pre-teen levels.
