Part of the problem with explaining time travel is that time isn't really what we experience it as. Think of radioactive decay. It happens. It doesn't happen over time, it happens. But because we have life and measure time by counting orbits or the electronic transition frequency of Cs, it happens on our timeline.

While Metallica's Whiskey in the Jar is far different from the myriad of versions of the traditional Irish folk song, it really was Thin Lizzy that made the conversion to a hard rock version.
