Having Jaden Smith come back would have been problematic but Dre would have worked. Jackie Chan's Mr. Han is fun to watch but Dre would have brought a more youthful appearance. Having watched Cobra Kai and the appearance of Daniel and Johnny as middle aged men with personal problems I would love to have seen a young mentor like Dre.

The iral was upset with Riker over not accepting command even after the fleet was rebuilt. She ed iral Hanson saying that Starfleet needed Riker to accept Command before the Borg invasion. Commander Shelby saying that Riker could have any ship he wants after they drove the Borg out? His response is It's nice to have choices? It was clear Starfleet had started questioning if Riker was capable of being a Captain. Jelico was a good captain that got the job done. Riker prevented Data from being a first officer on the Enterprise for nearly the rest of Data's life.

It was quite obvious that he was the same actor. He was entertaining in both roles. I wish they would have not killed him off, I would have enjoyed seeing him as a academy cadet stuck on the enterprise in Generations. Cadets are young so seeing him later as Rene could have worked.
