The real unrealistic part of the Godfather was the fact that Michael didn't look like a Marine hero that just returned from the Pacific war. Wrong hair cut for the time period and that nonsense that Michael would be nervous or scared about a loud 38 caliber pistol shot???? Unless Michael was a hero at pushing paper, having been in combat during a island assault would be a very searing experience of noise, death and the wails of the dying.

The Godfather was about family and tragedy. It was not about the Mafia - It is Shakespeare, not a crime reporter's true crime story.
