George sold it because the good fans of Star wars responded to the prequel trilogy by being hateful and vile. They bullied and harassed a 8-year-old boy so bad that he doesn't want anything to do with Star wars anymore or Hollywood. Poor SOB who played jar jar with nearly driven to suicide. You all hated on George for the prequel but the prequel was actually better than the original which I think was the problem. Let's see special effects a hundred times better, corny acting...The original trilogy had that in spades...the fight scenes 100 times better. The fandom was show toxic that George who might have kept it decided to sell to Disney. Quite honestly the fandom is the one who are truly guilty of all this
