I told my friends at the beginning that Leon shouldn't have been allowed to participate in the tournament at all. The winner of the tournament gets the honor of battling Leon. The three strongest trainers in the tournament were Alain and Cynthia and plot armor Ash. Realistically the championship match should have been Cynthia vs Ash or Alain vs Ash. Then add the plot armor.
