See AllWhat Happens To The Balrog Under Khazad-dum In The Rings Of Power
Almost all of them are ed dead though, with the nameless one beneath Moria being the last iirc.
I can't exact details as it's been a while but I believe the number of Balrogs in total history was also greatly altered by Tolkien. There were only a handful at his latest writings.
This has no relevance to the show though, as these events we're stepping into (in show) are already condensed and HARDLY written about at all. I don't recall there being much established lore here if any.
Point being, enjoy the show. It's taken major liberties but HAS to at this point. The entire show may not be great, but certain parts are done so well that even the most fanatic Tolkien fans still enjoy watching it. I truly believe the 3rd season will be the best yet.
The Real Reason Sauron Has A New Actor In The Rings Of Power Season 2, Episode 1
Furthermore, Rings of Power is gonna make some adjustments like any media crossover, enjoy it through that lens as an original spin in a universe you love instead of being so hateful. If you want the original story you can still read the books, they haven't gone anywhere. I'd assume you don't actually care tho or you would have read his works and known what you're saying is just wrong.
The Real Reason Sauron Has A New Actor In The Rings Of Power Season 2, Episode 1
No. You made a rant when you don't know what you're talking about. Morgoth made orcs. Sauron, Gandalf, Saruman (all Maiar) are a class of beings below Morgoth and his brethren who are essentially the angels of the universe (Morgoth being a "fallen" one). Maiar iirc are their heralds, or servants? I can't how it goes exactly I'm sure somebody can help with specifics but essentially you're inflating Sauron MASSIVELY. He has powers, MIGHT be able to prevent death, etc. But he's not a god, not even akin to an angel. He's like a... Well Gandalf's name etymology might explain Maiar a bit better. "Elf with a stick". A being from the undying lands except SLIGHTLY above elves in hierarchy.
