It must be difficult to separate oneself from a role they have portrayed for several months. Ms. Erivo spent many hours rehearsing, memorizing, and becoming the role of the wicked witch. It may be, that she is a method actor who embodies the soul of a role.
Sadly, she has become attached to the role, and everything is now personal for her. Now, every criticism of the movie will be personal. Every correction or suggestion for improvement will be a slight on her character. Eventually, she will perceive that any remarks are rooted in some systemic racism or some form of toxicity.
I feel bad for her. She has a lot of pain ahead of her if she continues this line of thinking.

The Last Jedi was the death of Star Wars. It purposely destroyed the hope of the Jedi in order to "subvert expectations." It was a film made for the director and not for the fans. It's the Dark Knight Rises of the Star Wars Franchise.
The slow paced spaceship chase, the Mary Poppins return of Leia, and the ridiculous side quest of Finn and Rose sent the message loud and clear, "Disney hates the fans."
Sadly, the director lacks the self awareness to understand that not completing a single story thread from The Force Awakens is irresponsible. The consequences, the death of Star Wars.
