See AllI'm Convinced The D&D 2024 Player's Handbook Has Taken Rulings Over Rules Too Far
Just perfect.
5e is a misinterpretation of what went wrong in 4e. 4e had some mistakes, but it nailed rules consistency and logic. 5e designers abandoned what went right in 4e, kept some mistakes and added others.
One example of what was pointed out as a big problem in 4e was the "dissociated mechanics", but 5e is full of it and I don't see people complaining about it.
In fact, 4e is criticized by 10% of players who actually played it and 90% who just repeat what someone said.
The more the DM spend before the session the better. 5e forces the DM to spend more time during the session.
If you need the DM to decide everything, why the rules?
