Spoilers within I was just watching Smile 2 on Paramount Plus for me this movie symbolizes how people with addiction affect the people around them. The entity fully takes over Skye after she takes the pills in the bathroom.

We never get the resolution because we are soon seeing what is going on in the mind of Skye so we aren’t in the real world anymore. So she could have talked to the cops as the smile entity was controlling her but we don’t know.
