See AllThe Acolyte Is Topping Rotten Tomatoes' Streaming Charts - So Much For The Backlash
Unfortunately, sites like Rotten Tomatoes and now as of today, Metacritic, are censoring and even deleting the reviews of viewers that expressed disagreement or criticism. If you look on the Rotten Tomatoes website, they stopped allowing s to offer their reviews on July 19th - any chance for viewers to make their voices heard (whether positive or negative) are prohibited. This has a chilling effect on speech, criticism, and ensuring that viewers can comment on entertainment productions like 'The Acolyte.'
The only site that is not restricting free speech is IMDB. On all of these sites, there is a disturbing number of bot posts that use AI-generated language to increase the review ratings. I wonder how much of that 180 million has been spent on paying public relations firms to utilize AI tools on review sites that are now censored and otherwise inaccessible to the public.
If your show is this bad, and you're still throwing money at it while silencing critics, it makes you wonder just how far Disney and this director and the writers of the show-in particular-have fallen.
