See AllAfter 2024's Christmas Episode, Doctor Who Still Has A Fifteenth Doctor Problem To Fix In Season 15
There are 3 main problems with current Dr Who:
1. Ncuti - whatever people say sorry he does not cut the mustard as the Doctor. Acting has been very poor, has no presence, authority as the Dr - is the worst Dr in the history of Dr Who. Even more so than the BBC Jodie experiment.
2: RTD - no new ideas, is in his own little dot and bubble.
3: last seasons writing has been the worst, the Christmas Special not really special.
I'm not sure Dr Who can be saved with the current direction and team. I'm not sure if Ncuti can even act the character of the Doctor in line with a more historical Doctor giving the Dr his own identity. I just don't believe the current batch of RTD and writers have anything left to offer. To save Dr Who beyond season 2 or 15 it's going to need a total clear out.
Doctor Who Must Regain My Trust After I Saw Season 14's Finale In The Theater & Left Disappointed
The whole story was completely poor. The problem a 5 year old could have written a better coherent story. Not just Sutekh was defeated too easily, the Dr did nothing to defeat Sutekh, and the whole Sutekh thing of hitching a lift on the Tardis for years makes past and future plot holes as large as black holes. Add this to the Ruby mother thing, why was Ruby's mother dressed like a Jedi? Cosplay could be the only solution because no one goes around dressed like that. The main problem is none of it made sense. RTD just can't write a good coherent sci-fi story and unfortunately I don't believe season 15 or 2 whatever will be any better.

There is no defence.

The thing is...
Don't really care!
Given up on leaky plot holes, poor writing and trying to fill the RTD gaps. RTD may in the future make something up but it will not help the episode. Too late now!
