The big one for me is in the trailer for “Major League” (1989) Jake (Tom Berenger) and Ricky (Charlie Sheen) are in a bar discussing a huge home run ball Ricky has given up. Jake says: “There’s plenty of (ball)parks that ball wouldn’t have been out of.” Ricky says, “Name one.” Jake returns, “Yellowstone?” It would have gotten a tremendous laugh if it had been in the movie. The people who did the sequel, “Major League II” (1994), did put the joke in. But it was said to Ricky by an ex-girlfriend, Nikki (Michelle Burke). It just doesn’t carry the same weight though, coming from someone who never actually played pro ball (in that movie’s world).
