I have loved this character since ‘57, when I learned how to read, through the comics my Dad brought me when I had the measles. He called them “funny books”, but I appreciated them so much as the fever raged. Superman has brought me to tears so often since then, as I have seen him as the best that we can be. Brando’s script espoused what so many of us feel, that we have the capacity for more. This wonderful take on my favorite fictional character will leave a lasting legacy…I hope that Gunn and all those who come after, realize the responsibility they carry to make sure humanity takes the very best from this iconic character.
