See AllHouse's Best Episode Was So Good, The Show Kept Trying To Do It Again
Back in the early 2000's, my brother in law came home to find my sister having a horrifying convulsion on the floor. She was itted to Mount Sinai hospital in Arizona where she was diagnosed with a small mass of small cell carcinoma in her lung. However, her neural condition continued to worsen - she was spiking a high fever and convulsing and the doctors were baffled. This went on for nearly a week with no answers. Then I saw the House episode where it was found that the woman with small cell carcinoma in her lung was causing the antibodies in her to attack her brain. It's called paraneoplastic limbic encephalitis - I wrote it down and called my brother in law, screaming at him -"I know what's wrong with my sister! Write this down and find a doctor immediately!"
Sure enough, that was her diagnosis, and though she suffered from some irreversible brain damage, she went on to live another 20 years before the cancer returned. So, House was not only a great show - it literally saved my sister's life! How's that for a 5 star review?
