You need to let it go. Under performance is because people of all ages have seen it over ,and over again. There is nothing new to the story. Try writing a new storyline with new characters etc.... That's what creative story tellers do. The criticism of Hollywood (or one of the criticisms), is that you have run out of ideas using the current structure of movie making. Looks like you are proving that notion.
