Listen nobody cares if you could get into the characters or not.You wasted so much time talking about dawnshores goofy characters and storytelling, while not speaking on the decent game play, and action filled main quest with multiple optional side quests, and weapons crafting and upgrades,with the characters abilities and the leveling up system. Furthermore if you've not played dragon age, you would be the goofy as this game is nothing like dragon age.That's why you shouldn't make comparisons when you haven't even played the game via your own words. It feels like some lame PlayStation editor whose forced to play Xbox games wrote this. For real Xbox players this game was refreshing.No it's not a game of the year and the story isn't mind blowing, but it's definitely not as bad as this clown is trying to write it off as. Definitely something to try if you're a game member and you're looking for something different. More of an elder scrolls or Skyrim type game only those two have way more character upgrades, and add ons to your abilities from leveling up, but Avowed is way better than the credit it's been getting.
