The Delta Flyer answers a nagging inconsistency. People often lament that Voyager's crew was constantly crashing and losing shuttlecraft, never seeming to run out. As highly trained engineers and technicians, there's no reason they couldn't simply build more, like they did when deg the Delta Flyer.
