Food and water wise I think Star Destroyers as part of hyperspacing to and from the Death Star might've routinely picked up substantial cargoes from their conquered worlds. Crops, livestock, rebel and resistance and other prisoners, whatever.

Given the austere life aboard, and the fact they had those huge trash compactors, maybe they similarly chucked the bountiful loads of stuff into gigantic food processors to ultimately distill nutrients and concentrate into edible if bland rations, recycle waste and other water (ewok squeezins, anyone?) to make it potable, etc.

Incorrect re Windu, he was more than holding his own and was not slain outright as his unfortunate companions were. That's not semantics, just sloppy on the author's part here.

Sure, maybe Sidious was holding back, using Windu as the final straw to provoke Anakin into committing to the dark side, etc., but that nuance isn't even touched on here on favor of vaguely atttibuting that dark mastery, somehow, to Acolyte's star villain.
