I loved Tim Allen’s two other sitcoms. My husband and I have watched Shifting Gears three times. The show is not funny. Kat Dennings is not a natural comedian, there is no chemistry between Kat and Tim. Her lines seemed forced and she is very stiff, sorry Kat…The grandson is the only one that is remotely funny. The lines are poorly written and frankly Tim Allen’s character seems overly angry and grumpy. I am not offended by political jokes, or narrative. We don’t care about that we are grown ups. It also seems like they are trying to check a bunch of PR boxes on the show. And the whole deceased wife puts a pall over the storyline. Too bad, thought Tim would get lightening in a bottle for the third time. We won’t watch it anymore.
