I agree! 💯 Really enjoyed her arc. Tho it doesn't hurt that I find the actress stunningly attractive. 🔥
This Horror Anthology Book Will Be A Surprising Stephen King First
Your comment is absolutely baffling to me - did you even read the article? This article is about a BOOK, a new book of short stories. And it's not 'revising' anything - people he trusts to do it well are writing new stories about The Stand. The film versions AREN'T being touched, for The Stand or any of his other works, and that will never, ever happen. No one is going to 'revise' existing film or tv, that's impossible, practically speaking. New film adaptations might be made, but King would only agree to that if he WAS okay with it.
Sit down and find a paper bag to breathe in, you are panicking about imaginary, illogical things. Nobody is touching the movies, now or ever - though honestly, many of them are NOT 'genius', and you should maybe actually read the books they are based on if you think the author is so great. He is genius, in fact, but the movies aren't always a good demonstration of that. They are translations of the books, at best, which only partially reflect the genius and creativity of the original stories.
For one, King actually openly dislikes The Shining movie, he thinks it didn't represent his story well at all. Many of the other movies are mid to uncertain quality, couldn't fit the story into the runtime properly, had to cut too much, didn't convey the creepy or eerie atmosphere correctly, or simply didn't hold up well. I would highly recommend reading the book versions of any of the movies that you liked.
Joker: Folie à Deux Review – An Improved Sequel Engineered To Antagonize Joker Fans
I agree with Cheryl, this is a meaningful and helpful comment! I would venture to say that your interpretation is pretty much what the story was going for - while even so, they did stick in a few things to make a point about the other. But I don't think that point was ever meant to carry the story, or be the entire movie's 'message'.
I don't even think any of it was meant to antagonise fans, or 'defend' the first movie per se - I think the filmmakers decided to clarify a few things that many people misread before, and added a point about toxic fans because that is a current, timely issue that is getting significant attention culturally these days and the story made it super easy to go there.
Possibly - it's improbable, but possibly, it is actually a coincidence that the first movie has a lot of toxic fans. The filmmakers certainly knew about them, but it is the kind of stupid disconnect that people often have in their thinking to be like, "hey, let's make a point about this thing here, everyone talks about it these days & it fits our story and themes" without also realising that "hey, that point will burn and piss off a lot of OUR fans, they are going to feel called out and assume we did it on purpose."
Though one should never discount the kind of idiocy that would, in fact, deliberately make a movie in such a way that they KNOW it's going to piss off a lot of their fanbase, and thereby cut deeply into their profits - it's STUPID, but people often are.
Anyway, thx for posting your insights, it really helped clarify my own thoughts about it all!
