See AllI've Changed My Mind, Monster Hunter Wilds Not Having Elder Dragons Makes It Better
The lack of Elder Dragons on release doesn't matter to me. They can be added later, which I feel is a good idea on Capcoms part. Get new players into the franchise and then bomb harder content and fight mechanics on them so they have time to learn the basics. The bigger problem at hand is the lack of monsters to hunt. You have a total of what, maybe 20 monsters? Then you just make 5 or 6 frenzied and then make a tempered version of them all? It really doesn't give you much to come back to after the first maybe 100 hours. After you've made a couple endgame builds for yourself the only fights worth doing are ark, gore, and the apexs. Leaves a lot to be desired at that point. I enjoy the game, just get bored of dual monster fights that include easy spiders, a frog, or a fire breathing chicken. Even the wyverns lose their luster pretty fast after you've beat them once or twice. They open world dual hunt system doesn't really give me too many hard hunts to look forward to like what was available in previous releases. I feel like the didn't truly think their system through completely this time around. Some of my favorites gaming sessions on world were also the hardest ones, dual tempered rajang was one such match up that I could never up because it was difficult and made me feel like I accomplished something. Hopefully they will make adjustments to bring that level of difficulty back over time, but as for now I guess I just have to deal with it.
