The ending was PERFECT. Dean always knew he'd go down swinging. And without God protecting the boys, Dean wasn't immune to death. Jack didn't bring Dean back because, in Heaven, Dean was at peace. I don't know why people complain about the ending. They obviously never paid attention to the show and the underlying secrets it revealed.
