See AllDaisy Ridley's Rey Is No Longer Just Luke Skywalker's Star Wars Replacement - She's Darth Vader's Too
For me, the Skywalker Saga is movies 1-6. The sequels are not part of Luke and Anakin’s story. They had nothing to do with it. They were completely misused and they had nothing to do with them or the Skywalker family. I know some people love the sequels and enjoy them, but better to call it the Palpatine trilogy.
Six Years After The Last Jedi, I've Finally Figured Out Why Its Luke Skywalker Story Was Really So Controversial
Yes, fans of the original would imagine themselves being the hero of the story, but we have also followed these characters through 40 years of the expanded universe. We have seen the character growth and development; the battles fought, the adventures they had. Not just with Luke, but with Han and Leia and we’ve seen how they grew and succeeded in what they wanted to do. The new trilogy didn’t just subvert expectations. It took the view that everything that the original three heroes failed in everything they fought for, and tried to accomplish. Luke decrepit, old man thought the Jedi should die. Han instead of becoming the general of the rebellion and wins the love of the Princess ends up a two bit failure of a smuggler who lost his family. Leia Who rebuilt the new republic overthrew the empire ends up banished running a two bit little rebellion again and sees the new republic fall. And they skipped everything in between how this happened why this happened what participated this? They just said they were failures and let’s move on. That’s why many fans, including myself hated the new stories. They could’ve done so much better to give them closure and the torch. They just cut everyone off at the knees.
Luke Skywalker Wasn't The Only Jedi Working With The Rebels In The Original Trilogy
I would love to know Baylan’a back story.
