Doctor Who Confirms The Show's New River Song, But Only If Season 16 Happens
I guess reading isn't fundamental on this site right?
It's Taken Star Wars 48 Years To Fix George Lucas' Biggest Stormtrooper Mistake
Probably not easy seeing out of those helmets either.
It's Taken Star Wars 48 Years To Fix George Lucas' Biggest Stormtrooper Mistake
their blasters can be set for stun.
Star Wars Just Brought Back George Lucas' Original Palpatine Plan
I got to be honest, when I think of Darth Vader, his redemption never crosses my mind, nor do I consider the original trilogy the story of his redemption. To me it's the story of an average Joe who knows he's meant for bigger things than moisture farming. IMO... Vader is the best bad guy ever created in any entertainment medium. Evil Vader fun, redemption Vader boring.
Did Marvel delay the reveal of Reed Richards' powers in The Fantastic Four: First Steps because they look goofy?
Maybe they want people to wonder what it will look like... actually hold something back
Madness!
Why was Solo: A Star Wars Story disliked?
Easily one of the best Star Wars films. Entertaining start to finish and not once did the word diversity cross my mind.
Star Wars Knows the True Purpose Of the Sith: The Dark Side Isn't Evil, It's Hungry
The article itself is just Darth Momin's interpretation of the force as he sees it.
Original Unedited Star Wars Showing For The First Time In Decades
I hope Lucas doesn't convince Disney to make an attempt to block it's release citing some legal mumbo jumbo. That would be petty and a very bad look. Seems like he was very intent on no one seeing the original again. Hope he has let that go.
A Single Story Killed My Interest in Star Wars, And I'm Not the Only One Feeling This Way
The Han Solo movie was fantastic and just keeps looking better and better with each new mess Disney releases.
Rogue One's Smartest Plot Confirmed The Oldest Star Wars Theory
It wasn't Darth Vaders weapon, he hated it.
Tim Burton’s Planet Of The Apes Movie With 43% On Rotten Tomatoes Was Secretly Great For The $2.5 Billion Franchise
I liked Tim Burtons version and loved the ending. As for the original POTA films, I find them incredibly difficult to watch and there is something about the apes very off putting to me. I come from the school of thought if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all. In regards to the original apes, I'm giving myself a , they annoy me in a way that's hard to explain.
Luke Skywalker's Newest Duel Makes Me Even More Annoyed At Star Wars: The Last Jedi
In my opinion, the Star Wars franchise lack of understanding of its own canon has inadvertently changed the definition, importance, and the over seers of canon within this franchise.
I see its canon like this, in order of importance.
1. The Lucas OG and prequel trilogies
2. The Expanded Universe books
3. Disney produced films
Basically, it's like the old choose your own story books. Do I pretend the Disney films don't exist... no. However, I've seen each one once, thus the space they occupy in my 50 year brain, vs the space the OG trilogy has occupied in my brain starting in 1977, can't compare. I don't have to ignore them, they just naturally don't as important.
Grouchy Luke: not canon
Mara Jade: canon
That is all;)
Why Remake Of Matthew Broderick's Oscar-Nominated '80s Sci-Fi Movie Didn't Happen Explained By Director
In 1983, Atari and the Commodore 64 were the top dogs. The term internet didn't exist; and if it did, it was in reference to something other than what we think of as the internet.
Star Wars: Emperor Palpatine's Legends Comeback Made the Movies Look Bad And Here's 10 Reasons Why
I agree. I hate the name Legends. Been trying to think of a better name. Classic Star Wars, 20th Century Star Wars, Star Wars Episodes. Idk.
"Something New": James Mangold Promises New Star Wars Jedi Origin Movie Will Be Like Nothing We've Seen Before
Acolyte was too expensive. Even if the viewership was doubled, still too expensive.
Star Wars Is Finally Telling The Story I've Wanted To See For 19 Years
I don't understand why Disney was willing to spend that much money producing a TV show. Some Disney big shot recently stated regarding the cancelation of the Ackolyte, there isn't any number of viewers that justifies the cost of the production. Seems to me that is something you are aware of ahead of time. As I write this, I George Lucas having the intention of doing a live action TV show. I could be wrong about the number, but I think he had scripts written, not necessarily by him, for 40 episodes. The reason this never happened... he said it simply would be too costly. Looks like he continues to be correct.
Star Wars Is Introducing A New Lightsaber That Breaks All The Rules
Dark Helmet and Pizza The Hut need a buddy comedy movie of their own lol.
Star Wars Is Introducing A New Lightsaber That Breaks All The Rules
I don't know why, but it drives me crazy how this site and others misuse the prequel and sequel. Just because a story takes place prior to, A New Hope for example, does not make it a prequel to a New Hope. I read things like, "the Retun of the Jedi sequel taking place 2,000 years later, will star...."
That's not a sequel!
Casting Mara Jade In The Star Wars Canon: 10 Actors Who'd Be Perfect Playing Luke Skywalker's Wife
You believe Mara Jade is property of the author, who was hired, who created her? Doubtful. This isn't a Harry Potter situation.
I Was A Child Of The Star Wars Prequels, & Now I'm Watching History Repeat Itself
I am 54 years old. There are so many aspects as to why, what I call OG Star Wars, seem to be disappointed with almost everything other than the original trilogy. A lot of their/our critisms are valid and true. Example, lack of a connective narrative with the sequel trilogy. It's obvious the return of Palpatine was not the original plan, and quite likely, there was no solid plan as for the direction of the trilogy. But, let's be honest about the truth. It applies to everyone, not just OG SW fans, and it's OK.
Let's pretend that the prequel and sequel trilogies had nearly perfect writing, perfect dialouge, and acting worthy of Academy awards. Would OG fans have less vitriol for these 6 movies... yes. Would they consider them better or like them more than the original trilogy... no. Why?
As a 7 year old, I saw a menacing figure (man/machine/robot?), unlike anything I've ever, in all black with some kind of helmet, appear out of a cloud of smoke. At this point, all anyone could assume, he clearly was the vilian. At this point, he isn't even Darth Vader, he's just the coolest and most freighting thing most of us had ever seen. This was essentially the Big Bang, starting what would become the Star Wars universe.
Are there "better" movies than Star Wars (the A New Hope title came later) out there? Even within the franchise, most everyone considers Empire the crown jewel. The difference between SW and Empire... 3 years. The difference was knowing Santa Clause was real, then having a strong suspension my parents may be Santa Clasue.
Did Jar Jar Binks tarnish my view Star Wars... yes of course. I was 29 by then. I'd guess as a 7 year old he would be amusing much like a cartoon. But what really set off alarm bells while watching A Phantom Menace for the first time were the following two words... Trade Federation. Jar Jar was too childish, the Trade Federation too real and grown up.
Star Wars is like Disneyland; how can anything top your first time?
