Only thing is, humanity doesn't deserve to be saved and Cabin in the Woods had a riteous ending.

In most horror/scifi movies it's the humans that are scourge and devil to all other animals and the planet and the "enemies" who are just correcting/balancing the imbalance of power: apes, aliens, sharks, primitive tribes, etc trying to right the immense wrong
