I there was quite a bit of hype about "The Creator" but after watching it, it just felt well meh. It just didn't have a hook for me, it was undoubtedly well done, the acting was good, the shooting was good and the story was sound but it did not have that special something that makes a film great. Sci fi is always a risk it seems it reminded me off Valerian in some respects a beautiful film but just no soul.

Looking at the list at the end I notice Firestarter didn't do very well, but I really liked this film. It is certainly better than the modern version imo. The point is always that people's views differ I also loved Deadzone.

My understanding was that Stargate has become the most successful sci-fi series ever, still not sure how this is measured but it's an interesting point. It worked so well I think because it was set in the present.
