It's not an actual accurate portal of anything. When the director was asked why he MADE UP HISTORICAL EVENTS.... He says he didn't care to tell it accurately.

I was excited for American Primeval however it's 98% fiction. I think it's reprehensible to depict historical events if they aren't accurate... When the director was asked about his fictional narrative on ACTUAL HISTORICAL EVENTS.... he said "I don't care"
