This movie taught an important part of history that millions of Americans would've never known had it not been made. Kerry Washington's performance is gripping and Oscar worthy. When the performance of an actor captivates you and makes it hard to differentiate the character from the actor is first sign that the role is being played to the highest degree. The authenticity of the acting across the board was solid. Could there have been some tweaks in the story, yes of course. Many felt the love story should've been more of an under theme, in contrast to the main theme of the 6888. Despite that, the story still brought to light the amazing accomplishments of these women whose service was pivotal and hugely impactful. Thanks to Tyler Perry this lost piece of history is now being told!
