See All10 Horror Movies That Are Actually Terrifying From Start To Finish
I honestly don't think I could disagree more on Sinister, Insidious & It.
That scrapped Public Service announcement that goes by the name George A. Romero's The Amusement Park is worse that all of them!
Alien Now Has 2 Perfect Opportunities To Bring Michael Fassbender’s David Back 8 Years After Covenant’s Cliffhanger
I've got to nerd-gasm here. I'm in the minority, but I totally disagree with the notion that David had any role whatsoever in the overall creation of the Alien as we know it. He didn't "create it". He simply managed to create life from a totally distructive pathogen. He was experimenting with the raw material originating from the zenomorphs much in the same way the Engineers before him had done.
Prometheus, especially, was very clear about this through the set design (the painting inside "The Pyramid". It's all there. The Alien most likely predated the Engineers, thus not altering the original mythology at all!
I just see David's arch as a spin off Saga to the original Alien, that extends the original mythology, perhaps unnecessarily. However, that saga is without a conclusion and if we're being honest, neither Prometheus or Covenant were the lowest this series of films has gone...need we all AVP & AVPR. I think it deserves a conclusion.
It was hard to stick up for Covenant I must it, that film blew, it blew as a sequal to Prometheus and blew as a prequal to Alien. But if that film just wanted to be set up for a sequal let it, let's see where it goes.
10 Movie Sequels With Massive Budgets Coming In 2025
The only two films on this list for me are 28 Years Later and Predator: Badlands.
The others were made from bad investments.
10 Most Underrated Horror Movies Of The 2000s
The only one I don't agree with is Lake Mungo. I've seen the film 3 times and it has the same effect - compleate nothingness.
One 28 Years Later Scene Makes It A Totally Different Movie Compared To 28 Days Later
I have a theory.
It's the survival of the fittest...or fastest. Like The Descent which saw subertainian creatures evolve in the dark. 28 Years Later could see an alteration to the same sort-of mythology.
Instead of evolving in the dark, "The Infected" could adapt to their rage in order to survive.
In the audio commentary by both Danny Boyle and Alex Garland towards the end of the 28 days Later Commentary Track they state that they had the idea of the infected be capable of sexual violence. But decided against it.
As film buff, I know there's many ways this type of violence can be depicted.
A thematic link between 28 Days Later and, (presumably) 28 Years Later is as far as I can surmise thus far is Sexual violence. If the baby in the trailer has any narrative relevance, it's Sexual Violence.
If so, the infected are most likely capable of procreation.
If you ask me, some of the infected look a little young for having survived 28 years into the apocalypse.
Alien Now Has 2 Perfect Opportunities To Bring Michael Fassbender’s David Back 8 Years After Covenant’s Cliffhanger
Honestly, this has to be said - "Covenant needs a conclusion!". It can't be left with David, Zeno specimens & 2,000- colonists. It spells ALIENS and that is simply too tempting of an opportunity to up.
But I must it, I personally don't want ALIENS. It's too obvious.
I have more of an apatite for the darker, nihilistic tone of ALIEN...but ...with better characters compared to Prometheus, Covenant...or even Romulus (Bjorn annoyed me more than Fifield from Prometheus, and that's saying something, he was a c____!) (And Maria "Rain" Caradine, AKA discount Ripley who need to give 1,000% more in her performance to match Sigourney Weaver)
It's not the action, nor the set pieces that need work. It's the characters, they suck!
Rain has the basis, but like Sigourney Weaver needs more material To work with.
Alien: Earth needs not to ignore the events of Prometheus or Covernant. I'm 27 now. When I saw Prometheus, I was in that period between childhood and adulthood. To me, it was ground-breaking compare to the CGI nighmares plaguing cinema screens at the time.
The Alternative prequals, need I remind you, are AVP & AVPR. I don't want either.
