See AllWhy Barbara Broccoli Losing James Bond Is A Major Blow To 007
I am delighted that Amazon have finally managed to wrestle control of the series from the Broccolis, who have constrained the series for decades. They insisted on keeping the same script-writing duo, even after disasters like Die Another Day and Quantum of Solace, and it was quite clear that they simply ran out of ideas, rehashing the same old things about insiders and incompetence, resulting in all of the recent films having quite basic and many obvioius flaws. Their solution to this was not to get better or more creative writers but instead to chop and change what they produces by committee. No corners were cut in any other part of the film-making, so why they settled for such poor stories and plots was beyond me. The only exception to this was Casino Royale, and the basic story here wasn't even theirs, it was Fleming's. Amazon having creative control frees up the franchise to bring the best script writers to the table to match the best film-makers that were already there. I couldn't be happier.
