No, Magicians Wasnt Consistently Good For Five Seasons. The series was good (enough) as long as it more or less copied the original. Once it left it, it became completely shallow (except for exceptional moments). The later books weren't worth much either, the theme got exhausted pretty quickly. But the first books were great.

I find this a misunderstood joke. "Elementary" is an average series with average actors. Sherlock completely redefined its genre and both of the main actors have "slightly" more interesting filmographies. That's no coincidence ;-).
