I disagree, if this were a real boxer, he would not be too old to still fight, and a random fighter he would train would not be enough of a connection to the series to carry the Rocky mantle, someone from the Balboa family for instance.

When I think lists here couldn't get worse... At least Walk The Line was number 1. La Bamba is better than Rocket Man, Bohemian, and how are The Doors, Control (Joy Division), What's Love Got To Do With It (Tina Turner), Selena, not on this list. Elvis wasn't even well received, great performance, but the film itself was lacking. Bohemian same thing, was a very unoriginal music biopic, although the performance was superb, but that alone does not make it a worthwhile film. The films I list above were all unique stories, not just the rise and fall of a singer, with parties and drugs, blah, blah, same old, same old.
