The color scheme is distracting, distancing. Muted, blues and grays with beige flashbacks aren't drawing. Also, the kinetic energy of the scenes seem too many, not enough time spent with any to get to know or care about them.

First, Xander was a young guy. Literally a teenager on the brink being a responsible adult.

How can you fault his behavior when it is typically indicative of the age he represented.

We were able to see the errors of his youth and the consequences of them as well.

And as this teen grew into a man, he DID mature and change. He was finding his way as a young adult with responsibilities. His relationships were with women his age and all the natural clumsy ways the happen.

As a teenager he wasn't self aware enough to know how shallow and a slave to his hormones he was. What teen does? They have to figure it out as they grow and he did.

They don't need to "fix" his character at all.

Had he been mature, making all the right choices, that show would have been different and his character a dullard.

It doesn't seem that hard of an obstacle. Jonathan has watched what his brother went through in learning how to control them, being tempted to use them haphazardly. He's even even helped him in areas Clark couldn't. So it would seem that when he gets his, he's anticipated on what he we do to control them.

Watch and learn, is that not the step of a wise person?

Please don't step on the original to compliment the new. Romulus is fantastic on all levels because of what the original was and the time period from then to now. The director paid attention and understood what the vision/message was and that is what allowed for all else to be improved on. A long with the tech, societal views have changed enough to allow for 'more" and the better to be had. It is not Apple's fault that this decision was made. Attendance is money. And that money is what pays for getting the movies made. People are not attending and as I'm sure you've read, the last few movies that Apple has put out into theaters was met with low attendance and criticism so that people just waited for it to come out on streaming to watch it. So why should they invest so much into putting it into only a few theaters when they should be able to put it into mini theaters to get their money back. But that isn't what's been happening. Limited release limited attendance. No money that equals to not being able to pay to make new movies. So a wiser investment would be to simply put it into streaming.

When the faith of the industry and the attendance of the public match the investment of the projects, we'll see them put these movies back into the theaters.

I enjoyed The Instigators which should have been a theater movie too but I understand at this time why it is not.
