First, I love everything JRR Tolkien, but other than names of characters and places, there is no connection of ROP to Tolkien. ROP completely failed in their depiction of Galadriel, Elrond, the Numenoreans and the proto-hobbits. The writing for this series is worse than juvenile and just atrocious. I don’t know one true Tolkien fan that appreciates or can even bear to watch the ROP flop. I wanted to like this series so much and was thoroughly disappointed. The only way I got thru season one was to see what disrespectful interpretation of Tolkien’s work the next episode would bring. I tried to give Season 2 a chance, but could not make it past the 3rd episode. I only hope the HFG attempts to maintain the integrity and spirit of Tolkiens work.
