See All10 Harsh Realities Of Watching Disney’s Original Snow White 87 Years After The Animated Classic Came Out
I'll also say I think it's completely obtuse to say the animation hasn't aged well. It's one thing to refer to humor as not aging well because jokes can turn bad as new information about the events they are based on is revealed and make them sour, but animation is a beautiful, constantly evolving thing. Sure there are frames here and there that look funny, but that's because the artists were using cell animation and drawing things frame by frame. Animation isn't done that way much anymore. In 60 years, are we going to say that the animation that was used to make things like SpongeBob or Mulan or X-Men '97 aged badly? What about How to Train Your Dragon or Frozen or Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild in 80 years? They're a product of their time, and the tools we have now. You wouldn't say that a Kodak camera aged badly just because the iPhone 16 Pro has been invented. You'd just say there are easier ways now for you to access an instant camera with a better lens and zoom capabilities.
I wish people had a better sense of fun and whimsy. There are so many movies and TV shows nowadays that I see people hate on because they're not *good* but what about if they're fun, or romantic, or beautiful, or nostalgic? Can't that be enough sometimes?
10 Harsh Realities Of Watching Disney’s Original Snow White 87 Years After The Animated Classic Came Out
I feel like the author could have saved a lot of people some reading time just by saying "I think Snow White and the Seven Dwarves (1937) is a bad movie."
This list is kind of ridiculous. I mean, sure Snow White shouldn't have just walked right into the Dwarves house, that was a bit naive and also maybe rude of her, but they lay out at the beginning of the movie that she is an inherently kind character who believes everyone has good intentions. And maybe that's a character flaw but character flaws make characters interesting, it doesn't make them bad characters!
And the Dwarves weren't taking advantage of her. Have y'all never heard of paying rent? Especially in the form of "I don't have a job right now so I'm living on my friends couch and doing all most of the housekeeping to make up for bumming on their couch" or something similar? She was doing menial labor in return for a place to stay. That's not necessarily taking advantage of her if she didn't have money to offer them.
And another thing: it's ridiculous that two separate items on the list are the author complaining about the Queen's plan to let the Dwarves bury Snow White alive and how morbid that is, and there is a separate item on the list where they complain about the fact that the Dwarves *didn't* bury her and instead put her in a glass coffin. I mean, in a realistic fiction story, sure that'd be a little weird, but this is a fairy tale. A teenage princess's corpse put in a glass coffin in a forest because she's beautiful even in death and for some reason her body won't rot is classic fairy tale material. This author is really trying to have their cake and eat it too complaining about both of these outcomes. I suppose they just wanted Snow White to have not eaten the poison apple, but if that's what they want they should watch a different movie because that's not how the fairy tale goes.
The Best TV Shows Of All Time, Ranked
I haven't ever watched a full episode of either of them so I don't feel like I can truly say this confidently, but I'm surprised that both Stranger Things and The Mandalorian were so far back on the list given how popular they both seemed to be.
Phineas And Ferb: 6 Reasons Mom Should Have Realized Candace Is Right About The Boys's Inventions By Now
Cool article! I'm loving all the P&F stuff coming out with season 5 turning up soon. I think there's a fine line of aggrivating vs entertaining when it comes to formulaic shows where a big part of the plot is keeping a secret or withholding something from other characters (secret identities in Miraculous Ladybug, waiting to see if Fran and Maxwell might ever actually end up together in The Nanny, etc.) and P&F has a good balance. I definitely have episodes here and there where I think "Linda could have literally stopped talking and turned 90 degrees and figured it all out and finally Candace could be at peace" but those episodes are few and far between for me. The writers do a very good job of keeping up with the formula but making each episode just different enough that it's fun and exciting!
Also, just as an aside, whoever wrote this article might want to double-check some of the information under #5, about the friends knowing, specifically with people's names. The author lists two characters as "Albert DuBois (Jack McBrayer), Buford Dubois (Bobby Gaylor)". Albert DuBois is voiced by Diedrich Bader and he isn't really friends with Phineas and Ferb. He is the older brother of Irving Dubois who *is* voiced by Jack McBrayer and friends with Phineas and Ferb. I think that confusion also played into misnaming Buford in this article because Buford's last name is actually Van Stomm. Also the last name of Baljeet's voice actor is misspelled; it's Pancholy, not Panchoy.
