Then proceeds to mention The Mandalorian as the flagship show, a show that stars TWO new characters we've NEVER seen before. It forms lore we've never explored as in depth either. New female characters are introduced no less and have become beloved. Sure though, the popularity of a Star Wars thing only works if it's established characters.
The Acolyte isn't suffering because it has new characters and new lore, it's suffering because it's bad. Everyone has the most illogical actions, the Jedi are inept, the entire Galaxy has the crime scene investigative capabilities of a bad CSI episode if it were written by turtles and yet it's always some other external force, some fandom, a political agenda, etc. that's to blame.
Within the plethora of claimed review bombs on Rotten Tomatoes are normal fans who are disappointed and have legitimate, intelligent criticisms and they're being ignored.
