Look, I'll take the heat. Martin Scorsese is an excellent director. So are others in the industry. Scorsese's brand is consistency within certain genres. That said, he's had his fair share of flubs and disappointments over his career. Not to mention his views on current cinema, is a misstep in knowing the viewers (customers). Cinema is art, and I respect him for that, but disparaging other filmmakers because they don't copy what he does, leaves his opinions/critiques up for question.
