The orbs placed in the doll's head seemed to be a spellbinding device. Destroy the orb, break the spell. This is the late 80's early 90's FBI investigating paranormal phenomena. Think the X-Files / Twin Peaks, in fact, nobody seems to notice the David Lynch themes here like the Longlegs odd speech and vernacular. Also tries to pull in the late 60's the long forgotten speculation the Zodiac Killer may have been some spaced out hippy devil worshipper, hence Longlegs and the cryptic letters. Longlegs film was just one long gimmicky snoozer. Awful film.
