Argument against Stockholm Syndrome.
1. Adam may be cursed, but he's still royalty, and the castle is still his home.
2. Maurice did a B&E from Adam's perspective as a prince.
3. Belle technically does a B&E and demands her father be released from his crimes, to which Adam declines.
4. Belle volunteers as tribute.
5. Adam is gobsmacked that Belle would trade her life for her father's, and says Lies.
6. Belle is like can I stay in a dungeon with this monster, and says on my family's honor, I will take his place.
7. Adam says bet and fully intended for her to live in the dungeon cell if not for Lumiere. Most royalty would've killed Belle or her father for their insolence.
7. Belle was never complacent and Adam never forced anything on her without her consent. He hooped and hollered, but he never tried to break in and drag her out.
8. Adam was petty, and said she couldn't eat, if she didn't eat with him, but he left it to Lumiere, who was the most sympathetic to Belle being comfortable, to enforce, which speaks volumes.
9. The minute Belle thought Adam would physically harm her, she ran out the door.
10. Adam had no intention of bringing Belle back to the castle, he simply rescued her from being attacked.
11. Belle returned because she felt bad that Adam got hurt essentially because of her and her father's actions and felt the least she could do was tend his wounds and thank him for saving her.
12. In return, Adam wanted to thank her and gifted her a library.
11. Belle realized that Adam wouldn't hurt her, or force her to stay if she didn't want to. She could come and go as she pleased. She weighed her odds and assuming her father was safe at home inventing, she felt safe to stay and enjoy her adventure.
12. Adam's "then you must go to him" expresses his gratitude that she chose to stay with him, and kept her word besides his shortcomings. He understood that it was time for her to go and even if she never came back, he cherished the time she gave him.
