See AllI'll Never Understand Why Hermione Is So Ruthless When it Comes To One Harry Potter Character
You're forgetting the results of her b.s. reporting and what it did to Hermione and Harry. And Hagrid. Rita's fans (complete strangers to Hermione) sent howlers and actual curses in the owl post to Hermione and the poor kid ended up in the hospital wing. It outright ruined her time that could have been better spent helping Harry. It also distracted Harry from his tasks. She only did that to keep her at bay and let her know she meant business. She promised to let her out and not tell the Ministry about being an uned animagus if she agreed to keep her quill to herself. Ruthless, but necessary. It was also a bit of self loathing, as J.K. has already stated she sees herself as Rita Skeeter.
An Early Harry Potter Wand Detail Doesn't Fit With 7 Books Of Wizarding World Lore
Read the seventh book. Disarming someone can change a wand's allegiance. Wands are almost sentient. They can choose a new owner. Once Ron's wand was severed, it was doomed to no longer work. As was Harry's. The Elder Wand belonged to Draco because he disarmed Dumbledore. Then because Harry disarmed Malfoy at his mansion by literally snatching his and Bellatrix's wands from his hand, the wand again changed its allegiance. It's in the book.
As for Ron inheriting his wand, it's likely Charlie received his own first wand as a hand-me-down or else got a new one as either a prefect present or graduation. Or he could have gotten his own with his own money, as I see someone else suggesting, and handed it to the family because he knew their need. It's nowhere near as farfetched as everyone is believing. You're not going to get as far as you need with someone else's wand, no, but this means Ron has always been better than he realized with making that battered old thing work for him. J.K. did this over and over again for Ron. Read the books.
